Track Day Report

Kind of a lazy day at the track today, great weather!

Portland International Raceway

PIR is 9 turns. 1/2 mile front straight, 1.9 miles, 7 right, 2 left.

Bike was maybe indicating 180 at end of straight, went around BMW. Last seen 175 but still pulling could not afford to look any longer. I was taking it very easy, if i got a good drive out of 9 would have been much faster.

I have not eaten for 12 days, on a fast so I was a little low on energy today.

Track temp 117
ambient temp 75

Running OEM Supercorsa SP ( yeah great tires, but they are what they are )

Cold tire pressure: 23 Rear; 27 Front
HOT tire presure: 26.5 Rear; 31 Front
Tire temp: 169f Rear; 141 Front ( going slow ) not stuffing the front in.

Sag: 25 Rear; 40 Front

Damping:
FC 10; FR 17; RC 16; RR 17

DTC 3; EBC 2; ABS 2

iphone pics sorry

I hope to see you at the Ridge! When I was at the Ridge, I ran 29f/29r. I haven't tracked SPs much. (Dont think I'm your pace)

Ahh, probably a good call holding off on the track until the fast is complete. I had a friend in the service who was dropping weight for a body building competition and managed to pass out behind the wheel of his brand new truck. He wasn't taking in enough fluids in addition to a heavily restricted diet, and that surely contributed. He was relatively ok, truck totaled.

How 'bout some vids to go with those pics? Third person perspective would be especially cool.

Are those some sort of inserts in place of where the headlights go?

How do those stomp grips work for you in relation to placement? I'm 6'1" and to get my thighs were those stomps are I have to "stand" on my tip toes on the pegs? I think I'd be better with grips on the scalloped part of the upper fairing below the gas tank?

Unless, I end my fast I may miss the ridge, but i am going for sure next opportunity, awesome track, looking very forward to it.

You can treat the SP's just like SC's, so next time try whats on the tire board.

I am doing crazy amounts of water and fresh squeezed lemons, with a small amount of grade B maple syrup with cayenne pepper. "Master Cleanse" not for everybody.

The bike is better than my 1198 superbike with flat link, 30mm offset etc.

I believe this is the first time in history you can take a bike out of the box and go fast without handling issues, my hat is off to Ducati. The bike is simply amazing.

Setup properly, its all about the rider!

Unfortunately most of the magazine testers don't and then it gets a bad rap.

Its better than the beamer, it realy is.
