Rizoma Veloce L mirror installation

Hi all

I have just ordered a pair of Rizoma Veloce L mirrors and i wanted some advice on installing them. Do they plug directly in to the existing wires or do i need to buy a additional Rizoma connector (they make some) or is it a DIY job?

Cheers

Lee

Caliduc and Mark419NY both have them so they are probably the forum experts at this point. I think someone else has them too, but I can't recall who. Do a search for veloce and I bet you can find the thread. As I understand it from talking to Mark and Cali, the Rizomas do NOT plug into the existing wires so you will need to clip them and either attach the connectors from the stock mirrors or do away with connectors completely and make a direct connection. I have them on order as well, so maybe I'll post up a "how to" once they come in.

Look up those guys if you want specific details.

EDIT: Looked it up for you - it was eddiegrosu1. Thread is here - http://ducati1199.com/ducati-1199/42...installed.html

The Rizoma mirrors are not plug and play. the wires come off the bottom of the mirror then you have to attach them to a balice and . there are 2 balices one for LED's and one for 6w to 10w bulbs. We have the LED's not clear which one is which they look very similar. once you have the right balice then you have to connect the balice to the stock connecter and you would have to cut off the connecter. the directions suck too. its a picture . to get the wires hidden you have to take off the front cowl. again no instructions on how to hide the wires. cali has a full description how to install them. I for one can not believe that Rizoma has done this. Im fearful that the signal problem and ecu problem will not be warranteed if you start cutting wires. mirrors are gorgeous however. i have the next reservoirs and they match perfectly as cali said.
my dealer said they solder the stuff together. im not with that at all.

This is really disappointing to read.... For $400+ they should damn well be plug'n'play!!!

Absolutely. The mirrors in my opinion are well worth the $$$ and effort. They are not hard to install just needs a little time and care.

Hi All

Thanks for the posts but this is worrying to say the least - I am not at all comfortable with hard wiring the cables as I want to take my bike on the track and need to easily take the mirrors on or off. I saw that Rizoma make indicator light connectors (reference EE079H for our bikes) - does any one know if they work for the Veloce?

Cheers

If its not plug and play I don't want any part of it. Yes I agree with Cali they are the nicest mirrors out but no way I'm I doing the install. I took the front cowl off twice would like to avoid that. The clips are so damn fragile. I'm not soldering wires sorry rizoma big fail on this one. Returned rizoma today. I really don't see these selling well. 2 hours to install mirrors c'mon man no way. Moto science will be next for me. Almost as nice plug and play half the price. If I could call rizoma I would give them a piece of my mind. Ordered them 3/7 got them 5/17 and now this. At least my next reservoirs are nice.
