One of the previous picture (red strip, 3 oz, 1/4 oz segments) is from Perfect Equipment - those were made of lead and not likely used anymore at the OEM level. Most OEMs are using zinc and/or steel. Victory uses Perfect Equipment steel 5 gr segments, HD is using a 5 gr segment from China. All the motion pro and K&L product comes from China and lately some change in the product or manufacturing is creating a nasty product.

Hofmann has released the Type 380 in 8 different colors, and the only place I can find it for sale to the public is here: carid.com ; just did a search for hofmann type 380. It appears you can buy them in strips or 25 count boxes.

Zinc also seems to be much easier to use than the steel weights, if you are looking for non lead weights.

Hope this helps...
....well...you've given a lot of information....but none of the items you refer to are the oem weight

-- the oem may not be lead, but it looks nicer than the others.....not a big deal, but would be ok to have the choice of getting it or not....

-- lead seems to still be the way to go, since you can cut them down....if you're overly anal about the balance part of it
