Thanks for the post, absolutely awesome pictures. And thank you Italians for making everything so gorgeous (but not for having a screw missing on the bike - LOL). There isso much detail on that bike that you can spend hours just looking at the pictures.

Duc, I think the best pictures so far of the bike, great job. Shame there was not a Tricolour that really looks great as well.

Out of interest what camera were you using? Groans from other members...>!

Someone at Ducati was really busy with a model brush and the paint for each bolt on that bike. I cant imagine that some of the bolts on theor previous bikes come lose because of the rattling and vibration.....

Those Bremos are very small indeed. Mightly good if Bayliss os to be believed.
If you took the black shroud off the exhaust pipe above the rear wheel the bike would look comical. As it is though it looks fantastic. Almost as good as the 916 in its day. Shame the dry clutch has gone it will add another 5kgs to the weight for the bag of spanners riders will have to carry to simulate the noise.

Yeah, I too would have liked to see the Tri but was thankful to see an S versus just a standard base model of the 1199.

I took those pictures on a Nikon D3, the lighting in there was not what I would have liked (too much florescent), used a prime lens, a Nikon 50mm 1.4G, no filters, no post processing.

Interesting point about the 916 because one of the booths at the show had a very nice looking, clean, Ducati 916 and while I marveled at it, it also reminded me of how amazing I thought the 916 looked when it came out and to stand there yesterday, it seemed almost dated because of the 1098 and now 1199. I hope history is kind to the 999, as in many ways I think the 999 looks more futuristic than the 1199.
