1199 R settings?

Just got my Panigale R...I would like to hear from fast track day people or racers what settings they are running inside sport mode and race mode please. Or what base settings are suggested including swingarm pivot..Much appreciated.

not considering myself as fast , these are the general settings some fast guys i know use.. and so do I..

we dumped the DES so i can't say it's this or that number

as to geometry, stock is a pritty good base to start from. it will take you a long way before you hit trouble... calculating

so as to geometry you should either find someone that can convince you to get a whole package of settings he believes in or leave it alone... beware of starting to fiddle with all the possibilities ( including pivot) without general plan as the pani is known to react strongly to some minor changes and not to bigger other changes... the potential to upset the package therefore is big.. even top teams stuggle with this..

then there is the general behavior... i' ve learned that rebound tends to have quit a bit of effect... and that adding calms the head and decreasing tends to make the head more nervous... it is said to slow the steering but to me , it's more than flickable enough for this not to matter.. especially as the genereal setup of the handlebars is so that its powerfull enough.

to compression : for ohlins : as long as the deepest level the fork dives is not 4/5 cm there is room to lessen it... keep in mind that toughening up your suspension just transfers the power/load to the tires

for the rear : keep it on F .. P tends to stiffen the bottom up but creates more movement in the rear and this doesn't help stabilising the front... ( my experience)

for track there is only RACE. the lack of reaction on sport soon gets frustrating as getting out of the corners is where you gain or loose a lot... DTC at 3 will take care of you ...

something you will have to find out for yourself is EBC... for us it's changin between 2 or 3 depending on the gearing and the track ( long sweepers = 3 , lots of tight turns = 2 )

abs : if your a hard braker : 1 or 2 will make a difference as 1 can let the rear get wiggly and 2 will sort of keep the rear in check....

all this said , we're happy but it's a work in progress... as all setups with all bikes...

succes and enjoy that R
