Killing me to say no mods, but NO mods until the bike is paid in full next year. Got fucked this year on my annual bonus that would have paid for several Pani Rs. Sights set on SICOM rotors, BSTs, Akra full system, rearsets TBD, CRG carbon levers, etc.

No matter what way you cut it, its a waste of money if you are going from bike to exact same bike- base to base, s to s, etc etc. Now, if you're going base to S, or S to tri for other reasons then that makes sense. Trying to sell this bike coming up to the 15,000 mile service you will not get anywhere near what you think you will. You plan on trading in? Then you'll be raped on the trade in... Plan on personal sale and then buying the other bike new at a dealer? Because theres another $2,000 in sales tax. Your "$3,000 out of pocket" estimate just turned into at least $6,000.

Just saying man ;-) Either way, enjoy your 1199 ('s)
Then again, I shouldn't be speaking. My S was fine but I went ahead and sprung for the R as well.
Really, look at resale. I'm getting offers for $16,000 for my 2013 S ABS with $4,000 of shit on it. I think you're being a bit liberal on resale/trade in value expectations... I'll light the sumbitch on fire and piss it out before I say goodbye to it for $16K..
16k seem bit low for sure. Is that private or dealer trade in?

No such thing as a winter in Tenerife but had Termi slips fitted today along with a rear sprocket/chain [41t] change. Think that's me done for mods but you never know!
