41 rear sprocket install free of charge?

Hi,

Just wanted to know those (especially in Australia) who have gone with the 41 rear sprocket.

Did you have to pay anything to get it installed from the shop? Is that covered by ducati or is it only the hardware?

Have heard different comments. My dealer obviously said that i have to pay for labour but parts are free.

just want to see others experiences on this.

thanks
nick.

They give you a discount on the sprocket but you have to pay for installation.

Hi Nick,

My dealer quoted $335 for chain, 41T sprocket and labour (moto Adelaide).

Luckily for me I was given the parts from a member (thanks Wilkson) here on the forum for free, so I just did it myself.

The dealer uploaded the software for free.

I had mine done at Frasers Sydney.

The sprockets and chain are at a discounted price from Ducati ( not free) fitting was free and it took them a few hours.

They also installed a new map to suit which comes with the kit.

It is classed as an optional upgrade kit, not essential, hence the payment of the gear at a reduced price.

By the way is it worth it, oh hell yeah! excellent and probably what should have been delivered with, but I am an early adopter so I live with that.

The sprocket/chain "upgrade" should be free. That stock gearing is shit, and riding this bike under 40 is unbearable without the "upgrade." I've contacted several dealerships about doing it to my S, and they want $170 sprocket/chain, $175 for installation. Fuck. Them.

Going to start calling for your ban dude, your turning into Craigslist. Go buy an R1, they are less expensive and most reliable. See YA!

I think you're on to something here.

Instead of giving my iphone4 to my nephew, I should have walked in to my local ATT store and demanded a free upgrade to an iphone5 (instead of buying an android because I hated that iphone4).

Wonder how long it would have taken 'em to stop laughing?

And come to think of it, Nissan came out with a larger engine for my Pathfinder on the next year model. I should call 'em up and demand a free upgrade. I'm sure it would work...

I enjoy reading the forums here rather then posting, and literally every thread I read I have to see his whiny, spoiled, little douche bag posts. Get rid of your bikes and move on.
Thanks from Phl, Mitchlguzin, wilkson and 1 others
