dropped baby :( broken headlight mount?

Hey guys. I believe this to be my first post, so a quick introduction-

Ive been riding since '06 and riding Ducati since '08. Im loyal to the brand and have really enjoyed most of the other enthusiast I've met since being in the brand. I currently live and ride in Southern California, but am from WA State.

I currently ride a '13 1199 with 5k miles. I recently moved into a new house (new to me) down here and was moving the bike in the garage when I accidentally kicked the kickstand up without realizing it. I was able to catch the bike with my body but the mirror bent and broke off at the mounting point against my thigh.

I haven't dropped a bike since 2008 and I'm still really reeling from this stupid accident. I'm slowly getting over it, but am anxious to get the slight (but probably expensive,) damage fixed as quickly as possible.

The magnesium (i think?) headlight mount broke off where the mirror attaches. I've attached pictures.

What is your suggestions on how to fix this? Ive thought about welding it back as replacing the part might be fairly expensive. Ive gone through the schematics at issuu.com/ducatiomaha/docs/2013_1199panigale_ducatiomaha?viewMode=magazine&mo de=embed but I cannot find my particular part.

What is the name of this part? Does anyone know of someone parting out a bike? Can I weld this one? What are some suggestions I havent thought of...

Thank you guys for your help in advance. Ride safe out there.

I needed a new one of those pieces because there were casting marks showing on it, and it was fixed under warranty. The entirely new part was only $285ish, which was amazing to me considering its magnesium.

Thats awesome! Thank you for the quick response. I read your first version, of "headlight stay" and was able to find a ton of results on that. As well as the part number you posted. For future reference, so I know where to look myself, where did you find this information? I was expecting this to be a $600 + part. For $300, sounds worth buying factory replacement.

I found it on Pro-Italia's website. They have the entire part catalog available online.

Glad you were able to find it.

check for them used on ebay or on the forums from guys replacing there upper stay with racing stays. You'll need to remove a lot to replace it but its not hard if you're mechanically inclined.

1. remove mirrors
2. remove side fairings
3. remove upper fairing
4. remove headlights
5. remove dash and anything in the way unbolting the upper stay
elements018 is online now

Ordered. Thats the cheapest its available, without purchasing the carbon fiber one. Thanks for your help in finding that.

If anyone wants the old one, after I switch it out, let me know.

They are Fra Gee Lay that's Italian for weak, I broke mine too, when I stepped off at around 70mph, after my bike was fixed I shit canned the mirrors and went with the Kyle Racing Ti bar end mirrors, they really cleaned up the look, and work great.
