In the days I wore sneakers. Came to stop at a traffic light and hadn't realised that a shoelace had caught on the gear lever. Went to put my foot down and it stopped about 2" from the ground and over I went. These days I don't wear sneakers and I don't lean into the leg being placed down for support until I know I can touch the ground. You live, learn and move on...

I was maybe getting a little too confident and pulled up to a stop sign close to where I live. I was slowing quickly and was going to go right at the intersection so I swung right about 30 degrees. I often do the final stop with the front or rear but in this case I got on the front and the bike stopped a little fast. Touchy break. I put my right foot down but was close to the side of the road where there was some rocks and gravel present, foot slipped and down I went. Front tire did not slip.

The fairing was untouched and the only part of the bike that touched the ground were the right bar and clutch cover. Cover is scuffed slightly and bar was bent. I rode it home and decided to trailer it to the dealer as I was going to do the 600 this week anyway, however bar let go as I was strapping it down. No other damage except possible steering stop. I couldn't check as the bar was touching the tank from being bent.

I think what got me was over confident, with sloppy stop and noticed that I saw the ground as when my foot started to slip. Anyone done anything so stupid or can chime in on how to keep from Foiuing up again?
Put some GB Racing case savers on and she'll be as good as new!

ouch! sorry to hear that. Good thing you're ok. Almost happen to me I was coming to a stop light and my pant leg somehow got hooked onto the clutch slave cylinder bleed valve and I almost couldn't get my left foot down in time. Luckily just before the point of no return i managed to get it unhooked in time.

first tipe i took that shiny 851 out. stopped, got of, put the sidstand down. Right on the dirt between 2 tiles. stand sunk into the dirt, the i found out that i was on a curbstone so foot went 4 inchers lower... bye bye balance... that 851 was a lot heavier... down she went.. 15 miles on the counter... inside that red SHARK, my face was as red as the bike... din't raise the lid to avoid the embarrasment..

I always liked the 851's. Porn stars in their own right and yeah that definitely would have sucked at the time

luckily the clip on the bar is a easy replacement. You can buy just the bar and not the entire clip-on. Ducabike sells them pre drilled and threaded for the bar end just like oem for $90 shipped for the pair or you can buy a a $15 silver vortex bar and drill the holes yourself for the master cylinder and throttle mounts.
