I Ride: Speciale V4, Ducati 1199S; 1200 Enduro, Scrambler 1100 sport, 748R, 1098S
At the recent tests in Potimao...

Laverty, Suzuki, 1:43:4
Melandri, Aprilia, 1:43:5
Lowes, Suzuki, 1:43:7
Davies, Ducati, 1:43:8
Rea, Honda, 1:43:9
Giuliano, Ducati, 1:44:4
Haslam, Honda, 1:44.5
Barrier, BMW, 1:45:2
Corti, MV Agusta, 145:7

Next test will be in Phillip Island in about 2 weeks.

Ducati, said the main changes were to the electronic package.

What I love is when they asked the question about the super leggera, the test riders at megello got within 4 seconds of the WSBK bike on lap times. He attributed it mostly to the weight of the SL.

Enlarged fuel tank now hold about 23L of fuel, new rear subframe, new large air box, new front n rear ohlins WSBK SPEC with 17"slicks.

4 tenths off is very encouraging, I would like to see what the steering head area of the bike looks like, I noticed the have gone to a tubular rear section I wonder if they have done the same up front.

I doubt it.
The steering head is part of the airbox casting.
The rear section structure is of no consequence in the grand scheme of things. Obviously it's lighter than a stock cast Aluminium piece.

I think if they redesigned it with a trellis framed arrangement, then they'd lose a fair bit of airbox volume.
In addition, it wouldn't be light weight because of the added complexity of the trellis frame and the requirement for an airbox, which would be better achieved by a single lightweight casting.
Besides, if they did that to it. It wouldn't be a Pani anymore
