Teaser

Well I'm getting close to winter project completion, thought I would share a tease photo or two that I snapped today when I brought the tail home for graphics. We decided that it would be better to apply the graphics while on the subframe because of the multi-piece tail.

I assure you the graphics are more even than they look in the picture, the light plays tricks on the eye and I was very careful. It is not perfect, but it's close. Damn things are hard to apply.

The color is Starfire Pearl. Lexus pearl white, as seen on my ISF in the background. The graphics are carbon versions of the full R scheme. They have been returned to the painter and will be clear coated over top until smooth. It was a little more expensive but it will be worth it.

On a side note, I am very unhappy with OPP Racing. As they are the distributor of CDT (Fullsix) in North America, all retailers buy through them. My left electronics holder was scratched when it came to me so I sent it back for a replacement and it has been 3.5 months since that happened. They still cannot give my retailer an ETA. February 27 was the latest and all he said was "it is on the way." I had to cancel my nose fairing because I still hadn't received it either, so I had my factory one painted instead because I want to ride sometime this month, not in May or June. Also, TAW is having a real hard time getting Marchesini wheels. I need a set of M10R magnesium, and they don't have a full set in any color. This last bit of the build is very frustrating. I decided not to ship my bike away for tuning and instead sent my ECU out, when it comes back I should be up ~15whp with a much smoother throttle. I have a feeling that so many changes at once, sprockets (15/41, 520 conversion) full exhaust and fresh air delete will be very radically different so I won't be able to comment on the ECU tune alone, but we shall see.

Anyways, that's all for now. Enjoy the teaser, and if anyone knows where the hell I can find some M10R mag's (or my left electronics holder) it would be appreciated.

Looks sweet. I ordered the Light Tech "R" Rear Sets from OPP and he told me on 3/17 that they were expecting a 2 big shipments that week and the following week. I called and now he said another two weeks. WTF OPP Racing. I don't want to start bashing on them yet.

I know that my guy got a shipment from OPP that was light tech today, but he has a customer with a s1000rr that has been in the same boat as me waiting 4 months for light tech parts. OPP is a huge pain in the ass, don't return emails, don't answer phones. I am never ordering anything that comes from them ever again if I can help it, that's how fed up I am. I feel for you. My original order was December 11, and that included over 3K in CDT parts that I got through a retailer because he refused to give me a deal on them even after I told him that his retailer would. So he stuck to his guns, and I got 8% off my entire order through a retailer and all he got was his wholesale price to the retailer instead of making the extra in between by selling directly to me. I don't think he is very smart.

Yeah I just read a lot of negative reviews on OPP Racing. I should have done my research before ordering with them.

I'm currently looking elsewhere for my carbon needs... may have something better lined up across the pond.

Here is a comparison of how my Akrapovic Exhaust arrived to how it looked when I installed it.

To add to the OPP situation. I finally got it figured out today. It took me circumventing the owners of both companies in the deal, and going to one of the underlings in OPP to find out that they have had 5 sets..... 5 SETS!!!!! of electronics holders in their possession, according to the guy I spoke too, for at least 2 months. 2 MONTHS!!!!! and the owner of OPP didn't even have a clue, all he could say was it's on the way I don't know when I'll get it, and he's sitting on 5 pairs, and I only need 1 left hand side. This level of incompetence infuriates me. So, I caution anyone that orders anything from OPP Racing. Avoid Patrik like the plague, if he answers the phone, hang up. Make sure you speak to Ed or Brett, at least they know what inventory they have and can get shit done.

Yep Patrik will just string you on. I cancelled my rear set with OPP racing and went with Lightech UK. Steve at lightech is awesome.

Well the painter had some issues putting the graphics on, he had a hard time removing the clear layer after installation without lifting the lettering on the CORSE... so I took all the fairings home and put everything on myself. Here is the result, now hopefully the clear coat doesn't lift the decals after application.

I really hope the decals don't lift...
