^agree, i am definitely the weakest link on the motorcycle. I was hoping the electronics would compensate a little bit more.

The DTC and ABS definitely works, i appreciate the added safety net.

I Ride: 2015 Panigale R
One person may like it, another may not I guess.

I also have to put my hand up on this one as it occured to me I have the R not the 1299. Essentially I have smaller pistons and different gearing so I may not be seeing engine braking or a snatchy throttle to the same degree as some are experiencing.....

I Ride: Anything with 2 wheels!
Yesterday, I tried EBC 2 and 3 and felt surging in the 4000 - 4500 rpm range. I set the EBC to "off" and the surging went away. This is on a 15R with a Rapid Bike Race and DP full Akrapovic system. Off is fine with me since I have ridden big twins for years.

That is almost exactly my experience. My 2016 1299 felt like it was going to stall around 4500 rpm. I have RapidBike Evo. I was very disappointed with RapidBike Evo, and had Yamman at RapidBike look at my mapping. He said everything looked fine. I thought RapidBike made no difference to my bike. Finally, just to try it, I turned EBC off. The bike no longer feels like it's going to stall at 4500 rpm, and it feels stronger in all rpm ranges. EBC was interfering with RapidBike. And the engine braking is now very smooth.

I also changed ABS from 3 to 2, and now all my braking is smoother. With ABS 3 it felt jerky. I'll try the ABS 1 setting, but I won't leave it there, because, on the street, I want corner braking control.

Yamaha made its own electronic controls for the 2015 R1 rather than use Bosch, and the R1 controls are perfect.

I loaded Tuneboy on my 1299, as well as the cruise control you get a form of launch control and some different throttle maps. With standard exhaust no hesitations or stalling, everything nice and smooth. Fitted undertail Termis and since I didn't have a fuel map for them I just loaded the full Akra map, this worked beautifully and will suffice until I can get to a Dyno.

No modifications to the wiring and you can put everything back to standard in a few minutes, in my case not the exhaust of course.

Cheers
