Not true at all. I've seen some at dealers with the older slippery seat as well on more than one occasion.

1) 18k km on a '12 Base and 4k km on a '13 ( demo unit I got in March).

2) Wet mode is for pouring rain only! Every mile you spend in it, you miss out on something great!

3) You haven't been to the track, the light comes on after 2 20 minute sessions! Esso sends me Christmas cards!

4) The fuel sloshing aroud will do that.

5) Try traffic in race mode

6) Anti Hero got this one right! Lower the lever a bit and things will improve. And get your clutch bled everytime you're at the dealer.

7) 899 OEM seat is da $#it

8) Time flies when having fun

9) Aftermarket companys need work too. Shift-Tech willl fix you up.

10) What heat?

Huh?! Seat on my '14 R is slippery as f@c4. Gotta be something better. Don't want the "comfort" seat because of how it changes the relationship between the bars and seat.

Jet Hot ceramic coat your pipes, and if possible get the full Termi's so you can coat the heat shield, and have the carbon fiber cover to protect your right leg. Made a massive difference for me. Huge. Totally diff riding experience.

I did the above and I also lined the bottom of the seat with thermal tec tape. I No longer have any heat issues in slow traffic/hot days. I use Motul MoCool (Not their MotoCool) and it stays 15-20 degrees cooler. I've tried Water Wetter, Engine Ice so far MoCool works the best for my bike. The guys at Ducati couldn't believe how cool my engine was when they were running my bike at Idle for a long period of time.

6. In the start/ stop traffic of Lake Shore Dr, there were a few instances where the gears would not go to 1 from N. The moment I lifted my toes of the gear lever, the gear indicator on the dashboard go from 1 to N.

I got around this by keeping my toes on the gear lever and giving throttle and a slow clutch out. Seem to work. I'm not experienced enough to tell if this is an mechanical issue, a heat issue or simply the fact the i was using the bike in a manner it was not designed for.
This answers my question I asked in another tread here:
==>> the clutch issue is not solved with the 2014 edition of the bike.

Had to bleed the clutch at 1000km, 2500 and 3450.. Bought a small bleeding kit now, it ain't that big of a deal. I had to learn to do it.
