1199 engine misfire at 7,000 rpm

Hi,

at air temperatures below 15C (below 70F) my 1199 has reproduced at almost exactly 7,000 rpm and full throttle always a short misfire and somehow less torque in the range of 6,000 to 7,500 rpm. If I do open the gas only to almost full throttle, the engine runs fully normal!

And over 15C/70F air temperature the engine runs perfectly OK, not a bit jerky and full torque also with fully opened throttle.

It happens with the latest OEM mapping and the OEM RACING-mapping (for the Termi-slipons)

What can be the reason?

Just the nature of the beast. Cold air needs more fuel and the richer mixture provided by the ECU can produce an afterfire.

I've noticed something similar that is pretty consistent if you open the throttle too quickly. I've wondered if I was invoking the traction control, but hadn't really investigated it.

How much time do your spark plugs have on them?

It's not about to open it quickly at 7,000 rpm, if I open it fully at e.g. 5,000 rmp in 2nd or 3rd gear and leave it fully open, at 7,000 rpm the misfire takes place.

asked my dealer about this problem, he recommended to do not only TPS-reset, but also a APS-reset.

Anyone knows what that is?

I've never had this issue.

TPS is the throttle position sensor. Don't know what the APS is.

6500 rpm miss.

My 1299 has this miss with the SC Project & the Term T-800 Up-Map.
I purchased 3 different up-maps from the slip on to the full system & the full system with DB killers. The slip-on map has no miss but the power is down, The full term map has the miss bad . The DB killer full system is best . I also found that the Sprint airlifted helped so then I bought the CF Sprint filter & it helped even more. I found by turning the TC & Wheelie Control off or down to 2 it all but goes away. I hope this helps you.
