Polishing akrapovic titanium exhaust

Hey,

Today i was given the awesome gift from my gf, an akrapovic exhuast system . I am just wondering for you guys that have the system do you polish the piping?

Does polishing the pipe loses the blue colour? and what do you use to polish it? I normally use swissvax products on the bike, but don't want to use the metal polish if it will lose the cool blue colour

cheers

I didn't and still don't use anything. Remove from packaging, install and enjoy the blissful orgasmic sound.

A tip would be to wear gloves to avoid fingerprints being burned into the headers. Before firing up the bike you can spray some wd40 on a rag and wipe down all the Ti bits.

Cheers

Yep, must do this!

I even told the shop before they installed it........... f*cking prints everywhere..... Grrrrrrrrrr........ took me ages to clean these up

I've also found now that mine went very blue/pruple after a track day and it's now starting to return to a more natural titanium colour with more miles (no polishing, just left it). However, the welds and joints have retained the deep blue/purple which is very nice
