DP Race Body HELP

Hi guys, I had the pleasure of buying a brand new '14 R last week. Since the purchase I have decided to go track only (for safety and fun). I have been searching the forum for a definite answer in the Ducati Performance race body parts; 97180031A (fairing upgrade), 97180041A (tail guard kit), 97180051A (belly pan). Do I need ALL of these items together for a proper fit??? What obstacles will I face during install and do you have any suggestions or advice before I begin the order/ install. I plan on installing myself after painting is complete.

Thank you in advance!

-Tim

The belly pan is not absolutely required and it will only fit with the Termi exhaust.

This would also be the most complicated part of the install as the exhaust has to come off and so some parts behind the radiator.

Otherwise it is pretty straightforward just make sure that you're careful with removing the upper front faring as the tabs can break off easily. Same caution is required with the removal of the upper right and left fairings as they are slid and hooked into the top fairing ...

The nose of the front fairies is plugged into a rubber bushing in the headlights this needs to be pulled out straightforward you can go on read carefully with a dinner knife and wiggle it out.

Good luck.

Edit- just looked at
The kits... 97180031A has the advantage of a headlight
Cover and the block off plates...

In general, these are still abs parts, just like the original buddy work. I would rather recommend you looking into dedicated track fairings made out of fiberglass because they're more durable. Plenty out there.

There also easier to install because they're mostly one piece kids on the sides and sleeker design for the rear seat
Thanks from jcbertin and RingMiester27

I need to resurrect this thread instead of starting a new one. Basically I got the DP Race Fairing Upgrade Kit (97180031A) and Tail Kit but there are 2 aluminium spacers and 2 electrical blank off plugs for which I have no idea where they go. Does anyone have a set of instructions? Even my DucatiDP Race Body HELP-imageuploadedbytapatalk1412711315.829993.jpg dealer doesn't know (and I bought it from them). I assume the white plug is the side stand delete?

Thanks!

one should be side stand delete, the spacers go in where the side stand comes out. and the other one should be taillight.

I am speculating here, but I'd say tail light block off and spacers for the mounts around the exhaust to prevent the fairing on the right side from touching the exhaust. But I may be wrong.

The kit has a plug for the headlight, one for the brake light, one for the side stand, and one for the radiator fan. Assuming you've used the two for the lights you're left with the side stand and the fan plugs. I don't know which is which as when I installed mine I left the stand and fan on the bike.
Thanks from Phl and MikeK
