Tank Grips

I added tank grips to my Diavel, my 899, and my 1199R all of them slide or come off. I have been testing several differant glues and so far the best I have found is Weldwood contact cement. I clean the grips with good ole super unleaded then wash them with dish soap. Apply a thin coat of glue let it sit for 15 min then apply to the bike. Hope this helps.
Thanks from kev1199s

I just added stomppgrips and have done 2 track days with them and zero problems.

Have you given them enough time to set (they need to sit at least 24 hrs) and put them on when the bike is warm.

Yup i followed the directions to a T. The first set was on the Diavel, I took pictures and they sent me another set. That set did just fine. The second set was on the 899 same thing they were comming lose from the plastic glue film. When I sold the 899 i kept that set and moved it over to the 1199R. I dident bother calling for the warranty and fixed it myself.

I'd just buy a new set of StompGrips. The glue they have should be sufficient. Should just peel and stick them on. That is all I had to do with mine.

4K mi with my stompgrips - zero peeling or any other drama. You have to heat them up right and wipe the application area on the tank with rubbing alcohol as prep. 24hr set time is key like others have said.

I had tech spec on mine and after the 2nd pair started lifting I tossed them in the trash and got stomp grips. No issues at all. Love them.
