I Ride: 2012 1199 S
Lowered the rear, Dealer made house call.

I had dealer install sato Link, rode home, next day I had no clutch.I inspected reservoir and nada, zilch, completely dry. I called DucatiMiami, explained the situation and they sent a tech to my house( 30 min ride.) and bled clutch for me while I was working. My wife was home to let him in. Great customer service. Wife wrote check for $105-not bad.
Love the riding position now, I am not as lurched forward over the bike now. I did a 300 mile ride last sunday and enjoyed it. I recommend the lowering(5-10 mm) to anyone looking to be more comfortable on open roads.
I bought the Sliders from them while there and installed myself to save $$.

Lowering the rear or raising it for that matter will serious change how the bike steers and behaves and should not be tampered with unles You absolutely know what Your are doing.

I Ride: 2014 1199 "Sofia"
So what's the explanation on the clutch? Somehow it lost the oil and got a bunch of air in the system?? And did you lower the rear using the new Sato link or some other way? Just wondering....

Fluid must have leaked out slowly and went unnoticed. Lowered a couple of mm only(yes sato)which did NOT affect any handling characteristics, in fact it seems to do everything better now.

I think the moral of the story is that the dealer went above and beyond.

Isn't Sato a cheap eBay China brand? I remember when I was 18-19 I bought cheap sato China sliders that just cracked off when I lowsided my Japscrap.
