Oil change day before track day; good or bad or doesn't matter??

Hey hey all,

So I have a track day Sunday at Chuckwalla (w/Pedro) and am about 500 miles from the 7500mi oil change. I have a K&N filter ready to go (thanks WhitePani) and Castrol 10-50 Race Oil from Amazon (thanks for the link Brad-I think haha) and will get a washer tomorrow from a dealer, or hardware store.

Soooooooo shall I change the oil out Saturday or just leave it in for the track day and do it next week??? Last oil change was the dealer 600mi butt-rape, I mean, service lol.

TIA

Personally I'd change it before and after....
EDIT, if your doing it yourself and funds are available..

Yea dayum, bike is pretty broke in. Don't think the extra time in high revs will require another oil change right after haha. I won't have enough oil anyways haha. Thank though.

do it before and your good. My dealer recommends every 4 track days with road riding in between. I do it with 1k miles and 2 track days but may be overkill

Change before for sure, but you realize your 7500 mile service is a glorified oil change, yeah? The service light will stay on until you get it done (or reset with Tuneboy).

I'd venture to say your acidity is close to a change level at the mileage on the oil currently with your stop and go, daily riding and such. I'm sure the oils integrity after the track day will be fine I don't dispute the TBN will probably be well within acceptable limits. My angle is solids and such after a proper thrashing. Cheep insurance in the grand scheme of things...

Bring some spare oil to the track, just in case you didnt put quite enough.
But dont forget to check it when it is cool, not right after turning off the engine.

He's got 6k miles on the filter/oil that's in there and he's going to go do a track day where engine revs can be expected to be in the upper range most of the day?

I would have changed out filter and oil long before 6k miles - track day or no.
Thanks from Badlarry

If you look at what I was quoting..I have no issue with an oil change..its the suggested double oil change that I feel is overkill...
