Sell that thing. Quick smart. Seriously, it's a veritable ticking bomb now. You can replace all the levers and bars for new, but the engine on these is a stressed member so the shock will have travelled down and will have almost certainly dislodged a piston. Use the sale proceeds to buy a nice comfy armchair instead.

I am contemplating changing the handle bar and will also bring the bike to a mechanic for a full check-up in order to minimise the risk of hidden damages.

However, even when the bike comes back from the shop and all damaged parts have been replaced, I know I will still not trust the bike. The concept of riding around on a bike that has been dropped makes me concerned (or paranoid - feel free to call me that ) and I am actually so discontent with the thought of riding the bike after this incident that I am considering selling the bike when it has been fully fixed. The main reason for the paranoia is most likely rooted in lack of trust in the local mechanics (including Ducati dealership) and lack of own knowledge and mechanical/technical capabilities to access and evaluate potential damages and risks after the drop.
Umm, wow. Im not even sure how to respond to that. I almost wonder if you are just joking.

If something is broken, replace it...and go on.

I have tossed a bike down the track at 110mph, watched it tumble...and was racing on it again in less than 30min after they changed one of the clip-ons, one of the levers, gas tank, windscreen and one of the rearsets.

Something like that has happened on more than one occasion.

A little drop in the garage? Dude, seriously. Just change the broken stuff and ride it. Going on about having the bike professionally repaired by a mechanic, full check up, hidden damages, etc...that is just crazy talk.
Thanks from Seismic

anyways ... try again ... I know where you is comin from ,Seismic .I dropped my bike at a stop ... not 30 seconds after starting and ridin out to the road & stop to turn ... look both ways ... car comes up fast ...I did not have clear line of sigfht cause a truck parked blocked my view ... meanwhile bike stalls out ... SURPRISED !!! I drop my BABY !!! damn near broke my leg skinned and scraped the shit outta my left inside leg ...ANYWAYS ... I was due for my first service ,so I took my BABY into the dealership ... CAUSE ... LIKE THAT'S MANDATORY FOR YOUR WARRANTY ... CAUSE LIKE I WOULD HAVE GONE ELSEWHERE ...CAUSE I DID NOT LIKE THESE A-HOLES ...THEY SCREWED ME ON A FEW THINGS ... LIEING SEEMED TO BE A PRACTICED ARTFORM AT THIS DEALER. SO !!! MECHANIC ,LOOKS OVER THE BIKE AND ... GUESTIMATES ... GET THIS FOLKS $5000.00 IN DAMAGES ... DID I SHIT MY PANTS OR WHAT ??? WELL ,I GOT MY BABY INSURED TO THE NINES ... I MEAN EVERYTHING ... ANYTHING ... SO ,WTF !!! HE SHOWS ME THE LEFT HANDLE BART WHICH HE TOOK OFF ...CRACKED RIGHT AROUND ...HELD TOGETHER BY 1/4 INCH ,WHICH ...HE THEN GIVES A SLIGHT TUG ... AND IT BREAKS APART ... TELLING ME ,THE ONLY THING THAT HELD THIS TOGETHER WAS THE ACCESSORY CLAMP ... IT COULD HAVE COME APART @ ANY TIME ... SO !!! DO I beleive these CLOWNS@ the DEALERSHIP ??? they did SLOPPY WORK putting my TANK BAG on,it flops around like a sack of potatoes ... I didn't complain ,cause I just wanna get past the first service and dump their parasitic , greedy asses .
So i don't like their work ... don't TRUST them and don;t beleive them ...yet I gotta deal with them cause they sold me ...MY BABY ...I LOVE THIS FUCKING BIKE ... I HAVE LUSTED AFTER A DUCATI SINCE I WAS TEN YEARS OLD AND SAW MY FIRST WHEN WE MOVED INTO AN APARTMENT IN A SECTION OF OUR CITY THAT WAS CALLED LITTLE ITALY .
SO YOU SEE ,,,Our situations have much in common ...I understand you mistrust , you lack of confidence in your ride ... is it you ...is it your ride ... how much damage is really there ... can you really trust these people at the dealership ... the only people I trust are the dealers in RICHMOND , BC ... The dealership here offered me the 1299 S ,when i wanted the base model ... then RICHMOND could not get me what I wanted for another month ... I WANTED MY RIDE ... I WANTED IT NOW ...YOU KNOW THE STORY ...ANYWAYS ,,.Thats most of the story the bike had stalled out quite a few times to make it notable and elecrical/computer functions were all fucked up ,,,it's INSURED TO THE MAX ... I GOT SOME CUSTOM REPLACEMENT STUFF ... SO WTF doI do now ...Like I said ... know your story and you gotta take EVERYTHING VERY SERIOUSLY and deal in a manner that COMPLETELY SATISFIES YOUR EVERY DOUBT ...
SIT DOWN AND THINK THIS OUT .GOOD LUCK TO YOU .

I high sided my r6. Broke the foot peg, the entire left side of the bikes fairings were thrashed, headlight housing mounts were broken. Rode the thing home. Called AAA in the morning, shop replaced everything that was damaged, and it hasn't skipped a beat. You'll be okay. If you've lost all confidence in yourself just by dropping it, maybe bikes aren't for you
