Definitely because of the packing but my concern would be if the heat wasnt evenly distributed and you ended up with a splotchy can.

Stainless steel will blue as well however from what the dealer told me, the OEM exhaust pipe is not 100% stainless steel.

I just purchased this beauty in November from New Orleans, Louisiana, Iíve been trying to figure out how to make the exposed exhaust pipe look better and based on what Iíve read, the only way to get the nice Blue is to replace with titanium, therefore Iím going to use high temp engine paint from OíReilly in aluminum color. Iíll sand and prep and go from there. Iíll try and post some pics when I get to it, Iím currently deployed and purchased the bike online with the help of my wife back home, Iím dying to ride it, itís sitting in my garage with a battery tender at the moment.
