Blue exhaust manifold

Hi, does anyone have an idea how to treat the exhaust manifold so it gets this nice blue shade? I'm assuming it would have to get torched, but with what kind of flame and temperature is needed? I don't feel like revving it at 10,000rpm for 30mins until it gets that color itself. I'm also not sure if anodizing only works with Titanium and what material the manifold from the 1299 is. Thanks for any ideas.

Itll only turn blue if you have a titanium exhaust. The stock 1299 exhaust is stainless steel and will never turn blue, but you can anodize it blue if you want but it won't look proper.

If you spend the money and buy a titanium system, it'll turn blue immediately on first start up just from idling, no need to run it at 10k rpm

Blue exhaust manifold

The titanium goes very blue, I polished the OEM and it goes blue at the front connection. Does not matter if a pipe goes bronze or blue if you polish it with metal polish it will go back to original. If you use q12 on it it will even stop the discoloration if you dont like red an blue....

The initial blue on the titanium will also fade to gold over time. It will not stay blue.

Gents,

Trust me:
1. It doesn't go away, but will polish out.
2. The colouring is a living creature when the bike is running. I followed a mate of mine when he rode my bike. The exhaust header loop went from blue to glowing everytime he wound the gas on on...amazing to watch.
3. The exhaust has never turned blue at idle.

Mark

To be a Devils Advocate here. There are MANY people (Myself included actually) that actually "Desire" that Blue Look and seek ways to get their pipes to get it !

If you don't like it, Im sure these fellow members can hook you up with ways to get rid of it.
You have to admit though, it does look ALOT better in Blue than it does in "Brown, Rust, or anything else!"
