Nurburgring and noise

Has anyone taken a Panigale around the Ring and if so have you had any trouble with the noise police? Given the problems the bike has had getting on track days in the UK I can see them turning you away before a wheel has been turned. Planning a trip there next year and really don't want to make the journey if I'm not able to do a few laps!

I took mine over this year.

Afraid I got kicked off on my first day. The static DB for cars is supposed to be 96db but he allowed me a limit of 100db. At 5k the bike registered 104 so I was sent on my way.

I did get on the next day by entering at the Adenau Bridge entrance which isn't so heavily marshalled. I've been told if you go through the barriers when its busy you'll probably get away with it.

The only other option would be to ride through with a friend who bounces his bike off the limiter when your going through. He'll get stopped and probably pass the test by which time you'll be long gone up the road.

Thanks Kam, that pretty much tallies with what I've heard. If it's busy and you don't draw attention then you'll probably get on, otherwise not. I don't think any of the drive by tests will pose a problem with the baffles in but there is no way it'll pass the static test!

Hi spj, I was there this summer on the r1, and there was 1 tricolour and 2 s's there, they had no bother and the tricolour went off and straight back on without any problems. Hope there's no bother as I am there next year on 1199. Mind you, no problem really as the roads round there are as good as the ring and the law don't seem to care and you don't ave to worry about a gt3 spearing you up the arse. Try the b500 from Baden Baden to freudenstadt...... Awesome, best Tarmac I have had the pleasure of gracing...cheers, Bob

Is the Nordschleife bucket list worthy?

Thanks Bob, puts my mind at rest and based on that i'll give it a try. Good to know the roads are fun if the Ring doesn't pan out, hopefully with baffles in it won't be an issue.

fireman1251 - guess everyone is different but it's certainly on mine. Suspect that holds true for most petrol heads!

Thanks for the advice.
Been to Switzerland this fall and rode "La Tremola". Nordschleife is next on the list.
