Ok you guys are correct. Just checked the parts bin. I have an 1199 guard that does not have the o ring. My 1299 motor is mid year and does have the o ring part. Maybe they had an issue and ringed the later years.

On the one on the bike it looks like they machined a surface into the guard and presses in a rubber o ring like thing.

That's a good possibility. I'm looking at the 2015 shop manual PDF so there's always a possible update later down the line.

I chopped mine up. I only have the three bolt holes and the rod hole, just enough for the slave function. Got rid of the rest. Been meaning to make a light weight replacement

Yeah, that plate is heavy. Are you going to get rid of the cover or will you keep it on the bike?
I'm right now doing bolt and washer on the sprocket in Ti. Will make another thread.

Cover is gone. I'm using a Ti bolt and washer for the sprocket. I kept just enough of the bracket material to mount the clutch slave. You can't see any of what's left of the bracket. Safety wired the bolt to the sprocket.

Is that 1299 part a ducati standard part or did you modify it? Do you have a part number I can quote to the dealer?
