Question What questions do you want to ask Ducati North America?

This weekend, I'm going to be spending some time with the fine folks at Ducati North America. Post up any questions you'd like me to ask them. I cannot promise an answer for every question, but I'll sure try!

Is the US bike suffering from emissions/noise restrictions compared to the Euro versions, and can the up maps fix the issue?

How many "R" models are they planning on importing to the US market?

What is the real story behind the smoke during startup? If it were the vaunted vacuum pump, it would occur every time. Give me something more believable. Why does it usually take a couple days of situp to get the condition? Valve seal leak by onto the top of the pistons? Are the rings really not seated by 4600miles? Really? Would you expect your Ferrari to blow smoke on startup? My wifes Mustang never did, nor did any of the Honda's I owned. Again, why a couple of days of situp time before the condition presents? If it was really the rings, should it not occur every time you start the bike from a cold condition. Another chance to give me something more believable. This customer isn't buying the line of crap your dealing to these others.
Why do we have to pay for bolt and nut tensioning on a bike we paid to be built? If the bolts fall out, you cover them under warranty. Case and point Swing arms, gear shifter, etc....
I know I know, poor ducati dealers just don't make enough margin on their sales so they take it out on the customers pockets.
There..... rant done

New upmap for Tricolore

I have a Panigale Tricolore with the Termi slip-ons. Is there a NEW (not the originally-suppiled upmap that came with the Termis), upmap available for California owners, and is it a factory warranty item, or are we expected to pay for it? Thanks for this wonderful offer. Much appreciated.

Yes, CA dealers have had it for some time now. No, your dealer should not charge you. This has been covered in a few different threads here already if you want to read the details.

Two questions :

1) what is the release cycle for Ducati performance products ?

2) will there be a Tricolore version of the Multistrada ?

Many thanks and congratulations on delivering great products and service.
