1199 ECU versions

Hi, can someone confirm whether the ECU for the 1199 base is the same as the 1199S? I'd like to buy another ECU as a spare. The part numbers appear to be the same in the spare parts manual but for some reason the part number (286.4.221.1A) doesn't even match the part number on the actual CPU on the bike (286.4.207.1B)

You shouldn’t need a spare?

Personally if you do go down this road check with a local ducati workshop first on codes.

Part number has changed due to revisions/ecu update that’s why your own ecu has a different part number.

I got stung by Yamaha Australia using USA codes thinking you couldn’t order USA parts from AUS so it would order the correct part since they started the same but you can and they get charged out at AUS parts. (Couldn’t return it even in pristine condition).
