I'm in the southwest corner. Right on the PA line. Where about is the bike you are looking at?

Go for it. I'm pushing 30,000 miles on my 1199S. It's seen hot city commuting, track days, and 2 years of cross country riding. You can see my video that outlines what you can expect. For the most part, the bike has been reliable with a couple electronic hick-ups, but never left me stranded. Look for oil leaks at the rocker covers and oil pan...common. You've got a 15k valve inspection coming that's anywhere from $900-$1300. Inspect chain and sprockets. I recommend going to a 41 rear sprocket. Other than that, see if an extended warranty can be thrown-in. By 10k, most of the bugs have been worked out by the previous owner. Cheers!

Bike pricing is all over the place depending on where you're located and the only real way to gauge pricing is looking in your local area or however far you're willing to drive. If the pickings are slim in your area then you are probably going to pay a bit more unless you get lucky. If you have the cash to buy you should be on the classifieds a couple of times a day to see whats popping up because any good deal is gone right away. I dont know if you have this option but on my local classifieds(kijiji) you can set up searches for what ever you want and all you have to do is open up the app and click your saved searches and it will automatically check. Takes a few seconds each time to check but worth it if youre looking for a deal. Every now and then you'll run into a desperate seller or uninformed seller price wise but you have to act quick.

It took me a solid 4 months of searching and i finally awoke to my dream bike at a really good price but it was already spoken for within 2 hours. The good with the classifieds was all the flakes so they all bailed and he re listed a couple days after and i got a 2013 white 1199 with 3100 miles for about 9700 us(im in canada) in 2016

Heck yeah - why would anyone buy an 1199 when the 1299 can be had for a few thousand more - much better bike in every respect
