CRG carbon lever help

Hello everyone,

I recently install some CRG carbon fiber levers, but now I’m having trouble shifting in and out of gears. The dimple that goes into the rubber boot on both sides doesn’t look right either. The bike does start so the clutch pin is installed correctly, but man the travel for the clutch lever when letting it out is almost instant. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Take the lever off. Pull the rubber boot out of the master cylinder and remove it, I find the easiest way is to use a pick to pry under the edge and pop it out, just make sure you don't cut the rubber. Install the rubber boot onto the plunger pin on the lever. Then install the lever, and push the rubber boot into the channel in the master cylinder until it snaps into place. Not sure if that's entirely your problem or not, but certainly the rubber boot is not installed correctly in your photos. Hope that helps.

I had those same levers on my r1 and ran into the rubber issue too, it was impossible for me to get it into the hole properly without any binding either but it wasnt enough where it affected anything.

The rubber boot should be taken out of the master cylinder, installed on the lever, and then popped back in to the master cylinder after the lever is installed. It's very easy, but not intuitive so unless someone is instructed on how to do it the right way they usually end up wasting a bunch of time trying to slide the plunger tip through the rubber boot, which rarely works, and often ends with a mangled rubber boot.
Thanks from panhandler

I tried to make a pair of CRG's work correctly for months and finally gave up and went back to OEM.

I gotta say they are worth it. They are the perfect size as not to short but not as long and bulky as oem. Not to mention they are carbon fiber and you know that’s at least 1 to 2hp on the butt dyno lol. Seriously though they are the perfect size.
