The downside is all your friends expect you to change the tires (I don't mind it) but strangely enough they're put out when I ask them to take them off the bike! And I don't even charge to do the tires!

I've changed dozens of tires, more than paid for the changer, and the added benefit of knowing you're taking good care of the wheels. Most shops have the low man on the totem pole doing the tire changes.

My original tires I got about 3500 miles out of the rear including three track days, had some tread left but picked up a nail so trashed it.

pic shows my tire changer in the back corner

+1 on the No-Mar ! anyone thinking about it should simply "just do it" - I'm up to having changed 50+ sets.....by the second set, the No-Mar had paid for itself - after I found myself in the garage at midnight changing my friends tires because he had to get to the track in the morning, did I convince him to buy one himself with the trailer hitch mount (whew!) -- I can't believe shops charge for this

I really don't know why I didn't think to purchase a tire changer. After looking at the cost, it makes more sense than any other part I've bought for my bikes. This is my next purchase. Thanks Zvez!!!

NP,
FYI nomar came out with the slightly less expensive cycle hill line,

You can't go wrong with any of them, buy a combo set tho is best:

Tire Changers

watch some of the videos they have on the site.

One addition I would recommend as it's better than the nomar demount tool is the no scuff tire tool:

No-scufftiretool

yep, you get a spin balancer with the no mar. I've had no issues in all the tires I've done, you just have to take your time.

No Mar has great vids on doing everything with the changer.

Here's the nomar vid on balancing:
