Arrow Questions about purchasing; 2014 1199 S

Bike is at local stealership. Iím a cash buyer so they are being pretty decent with the price. Bike has 2400 miles, new tires and chain. They said it was serviced by their other dealership(Ducati). Itís a 1 owner bike.

What are some things I need to know about the bike to look out for or when I test ride it are their dash indicators I need to watch for that identify problems?

Did this Ď14 1199 S come with multiple keys, key code card, etc? I previously owned an 1198 SP and it had two different keys and a code card.

Where there any major recalls or negative mechanical concerns regarding this model year?

Lastly, I looked online at many pics of 1199 Sís and I could not find pics of this model with just the main fairing area showing white and no white on the rear. Let me know what you think. Whatís a good asking price - $14-$15k otd?

Looks like a wrap or paint.

2 keys.

$13k max if it were me. Prices are in the toilet on used ducati's right now. Cash talks!

Looks like a really nice bike!

4 months ago I got a 13 1199R with 2500 miles in PRISTINE condition for 16k for reference....and I absolutely agree on the chain??? I would be asking why and looking for rust on the rest of the bike...in case it sat outdoors this entire time..

Id actually look for a 1299 instead - its a much better bike to ride, especially if you are coming off an 1198. You'll miss the low down torque of the 1198 and wonder where the legendary Ducati grunt has gone...

I Ride: 1199 Panigale S (2014)
2014 1199 S is a great bike. No specific issues to be worried about with those miles if bike has been held in good condition. With Bren Tuning mapping feeling will be much improved and almost perfect (at least in combination with a full exhaust system). Fairings seems to be wrapped and I can see that rear hugger is replaced with a (DP?) carbon hugger. Otherwise it seems stock from what can be seen on the photo. No reason to change chain with those miles but could it be so that previous owner have changed rear sprocket to 41 teeth (+2 as on the R and many do) and due to that replaced the chain as well (as is a must)?

Obvious mods are paint/wrap, rear hugger, fender eliminator. Somewhat important to note the passenger pegs are not on the bike. I know for some, its important that the OEM pieces remain with the bike, so you might ask if the passenger pegs, passenger seat, factory hugger, factory fender etc accompany the bike.

If you're a cash buyer paying asking price or near asking price and its at a ducati dealer, I would negotiate an extended warranty.

Kind of hard to tell from your pic but the fluid res for the front brake looks pitch black. I would ask that they flush that for you along with the clutch. My .02

Hi. Thanks for the info gents. Few things since I initially posted.

After looking at the internet photos again today they were taken and posted before the bike was fully serviced and new tires/chain install.

The fairings are definitely OEM; it's not a wrap or paint - I confirmed that today when I went back to look at it.

The bike was recently serviced at Ducati dealer. The fluids are 100% fresh.

When they took it in on trade it was still on the original tires. They decided to just put a new chain on it when they installed the fresh rubber. No sprocket change.

Has both keys, rear cowl and seat, rear passenger pegs. Rear hugger is orginal, not carbon.

No ex-track bike. Bike was garaged always - zero signs of sitting outside

They were asking $14,999 initially, then $13,800 + all the added bullshit. It came out to $17k & change. I offered $14k cash OTD.
