just remember the brake lines on the 1199abs are different (unless you are bypassing abs)

Also you got everything from a base model 1199?

The ABS units are different arrangment of the ports, so the 899 lines wont work to well. Also at the caliper end the banjo ports are on different locations on the 899 M4 calipers to the 1199 M50 calipers.

Can of worms......

Argggg. Yea this is a can of worms. We just rebuilt another 1299 with a scratch build on the electronics including a custom harness. We deleted the actual wiring in the harness for the stock O2 sensors, exhaust valve,PAIR and evap valve and ABS as we are able to turn this all off at the ecu. Makes for a nice small, harness. We made sure to match the dash to the BBS to avoid the "unknown device" warning. The ECU on the 1299s and base are the same. You can have a base dash and a base BBS and still get the unknown device if the part numbers do not match the build spec in the database. They can be 1 revision letter different and you can get the error. You kind of need to do some research to get it all right. The ABS is likewise problematic if not matched. During the POST, the ECU,BBS,Dash and ABS all communicate and sync via CAN. If they do not like each other, they will let you know. Mixing S components and Base components except for the ECU will definitely give you issues

This is one of the porblems when I was trying to sort out a TFN dash conversion in the 899/959. Very hard to get dash/BBS matching let along all 3.
The local dealership only really knew how to use the DDA2.0 as a hammer so never could dig deeper

Would you happen to know where I may find info how to identify which revision I have . I am learning as a I go which each mistake I make means $$$.

So far I have one BBS from base - ECU from Base - looks like Dash is from S displays DES error I am assuming . All from different bikes of course .

I do have a 1199 harness on the way which Iíll have Monday hopes to plug it all in and see what happens .

I am determined to get this bike running one way or another .

The easiest solution is to go off the Ducati parts manual for whatever bike you are trying to build. You will be able to match the main harness, BBS, ECU, ABS pump and Dash. The part numbers and revisions are in the manuals for the different bikes and the manuals are online. Correct on the dash, you will get the DES error on an S dash with a base BBS. The ECU does not handle "option" functions so you can use base and S ECUs interchangeably. The dash displays info for the options and the BBS controls them so they need to sync and the ABS pump is quite finicky with regard to its company. Where it gets a bit weird is when you have a base dash and BBS from the same model and you still get an "unknown device". We have one bike that is a replica of a previous build with this issue and all the parts are the same with the exception of the dash being off by one letter even though they are both 2015 base dashes. My last build has a brand new BBS. Everything is correct and there are no errors however there is no mileage recorded. This is because the BBS being new was not matched from Ducati with the VIN.

1199 build

I have down load all 1199 manuals 2012 -14 base and S .
I referenced what I purchased found out the following.

My dash is a 2013 S
My BBS 2013 S
My ECU - 286.4.207.1B . I think 2012 Base ... could not locate in manual for some strange reason

I made sure I downloaded the USA- Canada Version manuals .

Looks like I am back to square one searching for parts .
Thanks for your info helped me out a lot .

Question : want to make sure I am understanding correctly .

If I Choose the correct Part numbers from all the same yr and model (Base) . Good chance I wonít have any issues with each unit communicating .
I have all the part numbers Iíll need , reviewed closely part numbers from Ducati manual .

My ECU has the same model number for all years - the bbs and dash seem to be part number specific per year and model . The key and ignition wonít matter can use my 899 key and ignition .

So how correct am I?
