Lost Keys - Had Keys Made But No Luck - Help

So, another turd who lost both 1199 keys. That's me.

I used a service where I sent the immobilizer, they read the code, and cut the key (JMA Key w transmitter) and she isn't starting. It cranks, I have spark, I have fuel pressure, it primes, but my injectors are not being powered. I check w an auto light voltage tester, nada.

I took the transmitter out of out the key so the immo triggered, entered the pin on my dash, and still no juice to the injectors.

I am not sure of what is the cause. Were bad keys made? Is it my ECU?

It ran fine, sat for a couple of months, and when I had the key made she wouldn't fire. No compelling event, except losing the key.

I checked relays and fuses. "20" has burned twice, but I am not sure.

I wanna ride!

This doesnt sound shady at allllllll....

There is a thing called a Ducati dealer. Try it.

Thumbs down

Erm... not sure how to respond to that... but you have a keen sense of wrong. So if you have something in mind with whatís wrong with my bike, can you please shed light?

Not a fan if dealers, I do the work myself and trying to avoid full replacement.

Only having 2 posts (both are asking about keys) comes across as shady.

There is information already on what your options are if you search, which I think you did already since the keys do work.

You need to not worry about the keys... you need to worry about why no fuel. Fuse burning repeatedly needs to be investigated. That is not normal.

I’m wondering if the immobilizer keeps it from cranking, or if transmitter is off and maybe it would stop fuel injector even though it cranks.

You are right that the keys work. Just wondering if something is off w them, because I don’t want to raise hell w the guy if not necessary.

Clearly electric issue as the injectors aren’t getting power.

For validation, feel free to look me up.

Sorry dude, you are gonna have to get some street cred before you join the board and first thing you post is asking how to get a bike to start after "losing" both keys, and having new ones cut.

It sounds like the imobilizer is doing its job. Its not just the keys that has to match, there are several parts that communicate with the imobilizer that has to be changed.

NOLA.

Look I’d be pissed too if I had a Ducati and had no where to ride it. But, thanks I guess.

I forgot about forum life.

Even if I knew (which I do not) I would not be telling the world how to steal my bike. As it stands the expensive and labyrinthine way of getting a new key is a great deterrent, essentially making selling stolen bikes a lot harder. My advice, cough up the 2k.
