2014 Panigale R advice for noob

Hi guys, so Iím super excited, I picked up a pre loved 1199 R with just a bit under 12000km on the clocks.
My question to the wise men on this forum, do you have any advice/hints/tips for a newbie?

My other ride is a S1000R, so the 2 machines are vastly different.

I look forward to hearing from you guys.
Thanks from Twistedracer

Great choice, welcome. A couple of thoughts (I have a HP4 as well as the twin):

1. Foot pegs can get very slippery when wet. One of the first things I changed.
2. To fix the sloppy factory throttle, spacers are good, took me a little while to get used to though, particularly switching now between four and pani. Latter is extremely wheelie happy.
3. Fuel economy - I dont find that much difference between inline four and twin.
4. Engine braking is vastly different. On the ducati I dialed back to least engine braking which I think from memory is highest number.
5. I wear ear plugs on the twin but donít need them as much on the four.
6. Pani is hands down most beautiful.
7. You will need new rear stand for single sided swing arm.

Lots of other cool differences to discover and enjoy!

Check the water pump, if its weeping you may have to change the water pump, the seals on both sides seem to go out. Check your valve cover bolts often, along with any other bolts, they vibrate out at a MUCH higher rate than non twins. Bleed your clutch and brakes often, they tend to get spongy. Wear some sort of leg protection, they are HOT!

I Ride: 2014 Panigale 1199R
If it’s cool enough where you are, put some radiator guards on if it doesn’t already have it.
I run mine in sports mode with full race power.
