I know it was built after and blah blah blah but cmon man its a racetrack. If i cant run my bike on the street open and i cant run by bike on the track more then half way open then whats the point of the bike. Yes there are other tracks but cmon, LAGUNA SECA Ive wanted to ride that corkscrew since the first Gran Turismo came out on Playstation.

Just my 2 cents
Your first argument has some validity.
Your second argument kind of invalidates your first argument but you concede it.
Your third argument is valid as well - so why own the bike ?

But you fail to notice one thing - the majority of bikes are fine at Laguna. I mean hey - even the BMW S1000RR is generally fine. So you pick your poison in California - louder pipes and restrictions or the ability to ride on Laguna.

Did short shifting help you for the rest of the day? Or was it a one time deal?

I emailed Jay Murray and he quoted me $650 for an insert. I could not quite understand what he meant but he was talking about getting a 2 Bros muffler for the right side which hooks onto the exhaust. Will ask him for a picture. Apparently he was at laguna yesterday with another panigale which recorded 90.1dB with this setup.
Only consolation is I am not fast enough and should hopefully be ok

Andrea Iannone just got black flagged at Laguna Seca today on a 1199R ... lol (assuming it's for noise)
Thanks from fmvolume

Ironic since he rode the sane bike yesterday and didn't get flagged.... Unless he was told to short shift at t6 and since he was done today he just said screw it and got flagged at the end of his session.

Got a pic mailed from Jay Murray, not too bad. Not sure how the weight change on one side would be. Looks like I might do this after all since it is relatively easy to take off and put on.
Looks like the Japanese Panigale

Ducati moto GP team was just at the track 3 days ago practicing on a Panigale. so i say you can ride it if they were able to take a Panigale on Laguna Seca....plus I doubt they had a stock exhaust on theres

Actually it was not the factory team but Iannone who rides a Duc. If you look above - he was black flagged for sound there ...

I Ride: Ducati 1199S, BMW HP4
This is such a bullshit rule, I can't believe that politicians and environmentalists have managed to impose this sort of bureaucratic shit on racetracks???

It's a f*****g race track, you race and make shit loads of noise, I grew up with the sound of the racetrack at Silverstone in the UK, its part of what makes it the amazing sport it is!

The sound of the F1 cars circulating round the Albert Park circuit at Melbourne echoing off the skyscrapers downtown is one of the most eerie and emotive sounds I've ever heard!

Is this all racetracks everywhere? Aussies is this a thing in Oz? Barbagallo in WA don't seem to test.

How did it come to this?
