New R in da house!

Took delivery this evening...found out that it was ready and could be picked up tonight. Took the Bayliss to work and had to tear it up through the light rain to get to the dealer in time. The Bayliss performed flawlessly as per usual!

Had already taken care of all and any paperwork last week, so all I had to do was pull up and take the bike, which is eaxtly what I did!

Started it up. 3 miles on the clock. Left it in sport mode with new tires and a drying road surface to scrub in the wheels.

Immediately felt back at home in the Pani saddle. Had sold the S and was missing it badly for over a month.

New seat has a higher (by a bit) level than the previous stock seat. Still slippery but not as much as the S seat was.

The good stuff:
An immediate appreciation of the sprocket changes and UPmap changes were as noticeable as a slap on the face! All hesitation and so called flat spots were gone ENTIRELY! Bike pulled like a freight train to my self imposed 8K RPM limit for the first 60 mile break in run.

Gear box and DQS performed as though they had been mated up for years. No false "anything"! Ran up and down the gears to ~120 and not a single break in the seamless shifts or throttle response.

Had the sag set front and rear to my weight. (eyeballed it wrongly by my self with the S). What a difference. The turning geometry and response out of the long sweepers on my favorite patch of Long Island Asphalt; the Wantagh Parkway, was wood inducing!!

Never knew what a difference a taller windscreen could make!! Should have done it much sooner on the S and highly recommend it for riders over 6'.

Bike coughed up a small puff of burning oil on the start as expected which dissipated after 2 minutes.

What everyone really wants to know....WHAT ABOUT THE HEAT???....there is NONE. Period. Left the goofy shield on the header but had the cylinder covers pulled. The wire loom that was discussed in a previous thread was discretly hidden and I couldn't even find it!!

The bad....not finding anything to complain about yet

Will report more as I get to know my new toy.

Pics link to photo bucket will be posted as well.
Thanks from AntiHero, WAfatboy, CaliDuc and 3 others

Congrats!! Thought I read that the R (or was it all 13"s) had slightly different clip on's. Is this true and is it noticable??

Yes. Went way out of his way to ensure a smooth transaction and delivery. I love that guy and his pure undying enthusiasm for all 2 wheeled machines; especially Duc's!!
