@all who think this is too much - well, forgive our curiosity, but since when us men could resist the urge to think about our toys before its really in our hands?
if its true that the smoke goes by itself in time, then all of us gonna sleep even better tonight..

and will it make all of our(and some technicians) early suspicions above proved wrong?
coz if the smoke is really from the engine there is nooo way its getting better by time if not worse..

but then again, if we were to say its normal for the bike to smoke typically when its brand new.. my question is how come some people in this forum who already got their bike said theirs not smoking..?
manufacturing irregularity..??

How is the crankcase vented to the airbox? Oil must be getting to the intake side of the engine, gotta be a vacuum/vent issue. Modern Porsches smoke at start up this way, usually the oil is slightly overfilled, or the air/oil separator is overcome.

Judging from their celebratory mood it appears the guys in the video above were starting it for the first time. In that case, sweet, it may just be that new bikes that are run in for the first time contain some residual fluids in the combustion chamber that are burning off, which would explain why some are smoking and some are not. But holy SHIT that is a lot of smoke - and the fact that it came from behind the fairing would suggest that the front header isn't properly sealed.

How do we formally address this question to Ducati?

Yes, I would agree - the part 1 clip shows them rolling it out of the shop.

Would like Ducati to provide an official release, though I'm sticking to my thought that this is mainly do to overfilled oil for run in with the crank case vacuum pump helping to remove the excess oil.. Still not one review for the press track mentioning smoke.. except from the tires...

However, I think everyone missed the point of the video.. Did you HEAR the Termi system? SCHAWEEET!

Sounded awesome but is that because the slip on isn't slipped all the way on? Or Header leaking? After all, we did see the smoke initially came from the fairing cutout immediately before it comes out of the exhaut tip.
Nevermind the drinking, that thing is destined to be crashed.
I wonder if everyone including the techs were 'celebrating' during final setup.

Wouldn't worry too much about the smoke. Judging by the ceremony it was the first start. New engines are assembled with generous amounts of oil on the pistons and rings and they need several starts to clean everything up. The run-in at the factory probably wasn't enough.
