The heat on the 1199 is gone if you have the full termi with the V2 shield and the vertical cylinder covers. I could even touch the shield while it was running. My RSV4 was considerably hotter.

Just like how we go for looks and passion, a lot on this thread run the akras, which are arguably worse than the 1199 exhausts with the first gen heat shields.

I will say it one more time, you guys are complaining about heat from a race bike ridden on the street. On the track, no heat issues.

Anybody know the final results? This was just the track portion. Bmw came in second overall where did the rest come in just curious as the op didn't say it was just the track portion.

I think R1, BMW 1299 overall. They think the R1 and BMW are better road bikes. Good thing I dont give a shit about all the road stuff. I think its pointless to worry about what they feel like on the road. They are race bikes. And before anyone comes in with the "95% of people don't ride on the track" statement. I know.....

Agreed and that's why I decided not to get the R1 this year. My work schedule is going to make it difficult for track days and I didn't think it made much sense to use a bike designed for the track on the road. I wanted to try a bike that was designed for the road... hence my new, fat, 14R.

At the end of the day the Ducati is still better looking and sounds the part as well. However the cross-plane engine sounds pretty wicked with a tune and a pipe.

The looks and styling of some of the brands just doesn't do it for me my 2003 GSX-R was the last Japanese bike I plan on owning.

Would love to see the KTM's getting back in the game but they have some wild styling as well.
