1299S - Akra Upmap removal

A friend is having issues with his 1299, it has Akra slips & the upmap installed. The bike refuses to rev past 9,000 rpm in any gear and the fuelling is poor. He's got the dongle & looking to remove the Upmap to see if that's where the issue lies. Anyone know how you do this? With Termi it was simply a case of plugging the dongle in, turning the bike on and following the instructions. This isn't working (kill switch is off btw) & can't find any guidance online. Ideas?

For info, advised by dealer it has to be done by them, you can't do it yourself. So what is the point of the Upmap?

Further update - the bike went back to the dealer for investigation. They couldn't find anything obvious so stuck the bike on the dyno, same problem, it wouldn't rev past 9k.

They believe that the flapper valve spring isn't strong enough and the valve is being forced to close at high rpm. Currently waiting for Ducati to get back to them...

After running my 1299 in I experienced something similar but as I've now fitted full system it's not a problem, has anyone else experienced this?

doesn't the akra slips defeat the valve? upmap is for increased flow of slips that have no cats right?

With the slip ons doesn't the servo motor get removed keeping the flapper valve in the wide open position?

On the 1199 with the termi slip ons you remove the servo motor completely locking the flapper valve in the wide open position

The Akra slips get rid of everything downstream of the flapper valve which is retained. On the 1199 the servo and cabling was removed, according to the dealer on the 1299 it's left in place but the upmap inhibits it. Why you'd leave it on is beyond me as it's just unnecessary weight. The question is whether this is a design flaw or whether he's just been unlucky with a weak spring. Personally think the dealer should remove the valve for him, they're waiting for Ducati to get back to them. This was the DP slips costing 2,400 ish, he's now pissed at Ducati as he's paid for a system which currently doesn't work. I paid the same for an 1199 full Akra Evo system, again I think the price for DP Akra is stupidly inflated.

Just throwing an unqualified guess, but wouldn't a defective clutch switch do this? I think I read something about there being a rpm limitation when the clutch is in to prevent over revving?
