Hi Guys,

I have been searching for a tinted screen for awhile and cannot find anything that fits the 1299. Do you have a link/manufacture reference to what you purchased?

Ducati makes it. Tinted version is part#97180251A and is what I ordered.
Thanks from Luv2Ride and Ijustwantone

When I get the actual Ducati Tinted visor I will check the part number against the one that has already been listed above and will let you know. I just wanted to have the Ducati one cos it's slightly higher and a medium tint more a smoke rather than a screen which is too dark

Seriously, it takes like an extra 20 minutes to take off the front fairing. You really only have to do it once and you get an opportunity to to see the inside of your bike.
ahh the brilliant people come out. Im curious how dumb it was to put a tiny drop of superglue/Tape on a piece you NEVER see and is completely removable and made the process easier and faster. Hey if you want to take the time to take the whole piece off and put it back together go for it. But please waste your time and not everyone elses. Keep your ignorant comments to yourself.

I agree with @Pani Dropper. Rather take the extra time so you know it's properly done

Its not that much extra to do it yourself, and it give you a grand idea how the bike comes apart (if you want to dyno, put track fairings on etc etc)

Now, i will say, the plastic buttons they use to hold some pieces on are not the best to keep removing and putting in... they will need to be replaced eventually as they will wear out over time (the elasticity of it)

i dont know what bike we are talking about here the 1299 or the 1199. on the 1199 changing the screen was hard because of the mirrors. i dont believe there is a mirror problem on the 1299.

to do it correctly you should take off the front nose. its not difficult but be patient. dont just pull everything. there is a tap on the front that you dont want to break off. also alot of wires are zip tied so be careful. the first time i took off the nose it took me 2 hours. the next time about 30 min cause i knew what i was doing and looking for.

the problem is the bottom 2 grommets can fall into the lights. it can be done if you have forceps. you can grab the grommet and hopefully get it out. however i dropped my grommet so i had to take it off anyway.

i highly recommend zero gravity. it is just as tall, stronger AND half the price of the ducati one. if you are under 5 11 and use the standard seat get the double bubble. if you are over 511 and or ride with the comfort seat or race seat (1199) i would get the corse because you will be too high up for the double bubble. various tints are available

wouldn't the TRULY proper Ducatisti procedure to handle this installation is to hand the bike to the dealer, along with your Amex Platinum or Centurion card, and blithely inform them when you'd like your bike dropped off at your house?

No doubt.

And the sad/funny part is that I am a Moderator on Gixxer.com
