Hell Yes! I added Thermal Tec tape in the inside of the CF covers and they are wonderful. When I bought my 1299 I forgot how hot the sub frame got because I was so use to my 1199 with the CF Frame covers on so I immediately got a hold of Guido at Shift-tech. That was the first mod I had done on the 1299S. Life is good now.
Thanks from Gunny Fitz

However as I lay on my bed with almost a 2nd degree burn from a 3 hour ride on the highway, yes highway. Something really needs to be done and I don't think an individual should have to spend money to fix this either.
Ouch. I rode 6 hrs straight last Friday in 90 degree temps and only noticed the heat if I was below about 50mph. Definitely didn't get any burns.

CF doesn't not conduct the heat from the subframe.

I bought a set in gloss. But, that'd take 10-14 days to ship I guess it'll worth the wait.

Science time!
So carbon fiber is pretty much agnostic to temperature change. I am a pretty avid bow hunter as well and I have a carbon fiber bow. No matter how cold it gets outside, that bow never is cold to the touch

the only place I feel heat is this area you are all talking about.

It looks like the shift tech plugs the hole that vents air from the engine.

can someone with the shift tech cover confirm that the piece closes the hole that is on the subframe?
thank you in advance.

It doesnt plug that hole however it doesnt get hot. Tested it out in 100 degree texas heat yesterday in the city. Bike got to 234. Subframe was not warm to the touch at all.
Thanks from Macattack and Tangor
