"Stop Light" warning light

Anyone know what the "Stop Light" warning light means?
I just put on the CW fender eliminator and the warning light came on for a few seconds when the key is on but engine not running. The bike still runs just fine, I just get the warning "Stop Light" when the engine is not running but key on.
What's up with that???

This message means that the ECU cannot detect a rear break light. Does your rear break light still work?
If not: you forgot to reconnect the rear light assembly correctly.

Rear brake light still works just fine...
The warning light goes off, and stays off, when the engine is running.

Brake light is inop. Gotta be careful with the wiring of these bikes, especially when wiring your own elim kits. I had to buy a new wiring loom for the rear because the previous owner hacked the wiring big time, to where none of my blinkers worked.

Just read it works fine when the engine is running. Like I said the wiring is finecky and there's probably a small glitch causing the alert to come on when the bike isn't ruinning. I have no idea the cause of it, though, sorry.

Indeed stop light warning light with little engine icon = brake light;

had this happen on couple occasions during recent spirited rides (big red light with exclamation) takes the entire screen, seemed to occur while on the gas.

Then, would come back after minimized under brakes (perhaps connecting, disconnecting).

So I had Moto Union check it, see where the disconnection was and make sure there wasn't something else awry. All good, just loose.

At the time in the midst of a ride and totally taken out of context, thought the bike was tellin me to STOP ! (Assumed it meant something with engine due to the icon used) ..... When it was simply informing me, my brake (stop) light was not functioning .... Quite important for the street of course.

Shimmy and shake can make stuff loose

Does this CW Fender Eliminator only connect to the direction indicators or also to the rear light? If not, I guess the connector to the rear light came loose.

ECU initially checks for existence of the rear brake light by sending a 100ms long 12VDC pulse. If the measured load is approx. less than 5W the warning appears on the dashboard.

Also the rear light... I'll look at the connections again to make sure they're tight..

"Stop Light" warning light

Took to the dealership. They said the bike is on the "bus" system and because it's an aftermarket light it probably doesn't read the correct voltage when the bike is not running. Also noticed the brake light nor blinkers work when bike is not running. But when running; the warning light goes away and all lights work properly. They said don't worry about it.

yeah I'm having the same issue but when the bike is running it keeps showing me the message on the screen, when I click the brake the light doesn't light up... but it is working just doesn't get brighter when the light is put on.
