I spent the last months having "a closure look" at the Panigale's electronics. And I really don't understand anymore why it seems so impossible to analyse such problems in a logical way; how it has been used to be done by engineers in the past.

First: endodoc is absolutely right. Clutch switch has a crucial role. Also a lot of other sensors like the QS sensor, temperature and pressure sensors and the oil pressure switch. But all these sensor values can be read thru the CAN bus communications (without putting additional load to the electronic components). And Ducati provides their dealers with a standalone logging device. So it would be really simple to log and therefore document such stalling events on customer bikes (I'm pretty sure that you guys would have no problem if there would be a black box temporarily attached to your bike).
Either one can see some wrong values, or it can be proven that the engine is a piece of shit. Also checking sensors standalone is straight forward, so one could easily identify wiring/harness issues.

@Ty1967: Why don't you get in contact with DeussenEngine's? It seems that this guy in Germany knows much more about the Panigale internals...
Thanks from Indiana Jones and Ty1967

Hi Gecko, everything is running perfect now but Danke anyway for the info! We bought two 1299's in August and mine hasn't had one single problem. But my wife's Pani stalled at least once per tour, blew her engine due to a failed oil pump, wouldn't start due to a faulty air mass sensor and had a failed clutch bearing all in a time period of 2 months and 2700km's. Ducati obviously has some manufacturing problems if the bikes are so different from their quality (hers was probably built on a Monday). But our Ducati dealer found all the problems and fixed them one after another. So now we hope that everything is cool and are going to try to finally enjoy the bikes without any more problems. Here's a pic of her on the road today, looking happy again.

I have 2015 1299 S. When I first got her there were no issues with stalling. After a couple of months I installed a Akrapovic slip on with the up chip. At the same time I also installed new levers. And then the stalling started. I also started experiencing a very low speed flat spot. It was actually more than a flat spot. It was almost like a stall and would throw my weight forward on the bike. This only happened at very low engine speed in traffic. The dealer couldn't find anything. I then started playing with the electronics. When I set the engine to HIGH (in sport mode) my issues went away. I'm very happy riding in high.

Agreed, I also set my sport mode to HIGH, bike is a lot cleaner on power delivery, even at low speed.

Same issue on my bike

I have had this happen to me on my 959. First was going from second to first pulling up at home and the second time it was changing down to second gear to take a turn. Luckily no traffic around me. My bike is going in for its first 1000 service next week so will see what they say about it.

Oh hi I'm Andre and I bought my 1299s on 10/7/2016 and it shuts of spasmodically I'm starting to think Ducati has a bad reputation with they're bikes. I have been a ZX 14 fan and I never had so much grief with a motorcycle in my life I previously had a 2015 899 Ducati and it had clutch problems and stalling out problems and it lacked the guts of the the Ninja ZX 14 and ZX 10r. I drive a Mercedes and I think the Germans have better engineering and Kawasaki does too. I want a R1 Yamaha now or BMW motorcycle that was seen in the Mission Impossible movie. Ducati is full of nonsense. I was so happy to trade up from the 899 to a 1299 because the 899 had no guts compared to my Ninjas. Now this with the bike just turning off people just don't have any integrity anymore. I'm truly disappointed and just crying. It took 1 year and 1 month to fix the clutch problem on the 899 now this. God grant me favor and fix whatever is wrong and give me wisdom and understanding and experience and suggestions for this. Thanks in advance for everything! Andre

Andre,

The easiest suggestion it to change your engine setting to HIGH. Also, try not to overfill the gas tank due to the emissions canister. Let us know how that works

1299S log 11/4/16
Bike always stops when you get back on it after it has cooled off about 115 f you are going into neutral and getting ready to stop. Westlake Ducati couldn't find problem after you drove in traffic for about 2 hours about 43 mph to said break in at 600 miles they checked charcoal said it's ok and gas tank breathes ok and they didn't check blinkers to see if it would go off after driving with it on accidentally
Feel the mechanics are full of bullshit they act like you never had anything new before or v twin bike I told them I had a SV 1200 Suzuki it just had a battery problem because they installed lo jack on it. Bike stalled on the 10fwy when going into the the 110 fwy ramp by the la convention center
Was going to the vet center at goodwill on San Fernando road and fletcher road off. 2 fwy
Ducati dealer is full of bulahit bike has 286 miles on it I have have bought 2 brand new ninja bikes ZX 14 and 10r and used. Zx14 with 400 miles on it and numerous other Japanese bikes Suzuki and Honda bikes and this is a Ducati systemic problem disavowed by Ducati culture and dismissed like a Mission Impossible TV series like the dodge jeep Cherokee denial and killing of the star Trek movie star still looking for solutions in Los Angles CA

Oh I'm tired of explaining my life story to Ducati of North America and its dealers in the Southern California area because this is unduly and uncalled for. Looking for anyone to give some suggestions on how to verify and confirm with video camera what I'm going through. I'm tired of trying to get Ducati approval to fix my Ducati bike under warranty and perpetually explaining my Ducati bike story I don't know how many times to get my problems fixed. Dealer always states can't duplicate problems need video proof of problem if anyone can give support and suggestions for a solution let me know. Freind said if you have a leaky roof don't have the roofer come and look for the leak after it stopped raining to fix the leak but I did make a video to show where the leak was. Looking for similar solutions for verification of 1299s problems what's a cheap camera to record what my bike is doing to show Ducati dealers and Ducati of North America what I'm gonna no through they always have an excuse of why they can't fix bike I don't know how many times

I will put bike on high but I don't have any understanding of how to do this I was at westlake Ducati dealer in 1000 oaks we went through instruments on dashboard said bike functons are exempt or muted in wet mode. What mode are you talking about? I have 1299 S manual on iPhone. I don't want to be annoying and blackballed by Ducati fans I just don't want to be in an accident with any injuries or damage to my bike due to malfunctions. I have buddy's that have Ducati bikes but they don't have with they're bikes. I'm taking a motorcycle class at Los Angles Trade Technical College but I feel uncomfortable working on a new bike here when all the bikes are old and nobody here is a certified technician from Ducati and I don't want to void my Ducati warranty. Also it bothers me that I don't have a 1299s Manuel available on looking ne available as a pdf file as a free download dealer at Del Amo Motor Sports said it was on a USB thumb drive or cd/DVD disc that's updated. People just tell me anything. Any suggestions? For a free shop Manuel for 1299S? Thanks in advance for everything looking for real solutions and n Los Angles California and Seattle Was
