Tires

So I'm looking for next season tires that will last longer than the stock 1299s supercorsa V2's because my commute to work is mainly straight highway riding.

The options are, Dunlop Q3's and Metzeler M7RR's.

What do you guys prefer or suggest with a hard center rubber while still being an alright tire on twisties and rain.

Q3's

Cheaper, almost just as good in the corners and MUCH MUCH better in the wet. The last set I had on my s1000rr lasted me 7k miles with about 4 track days and some canyon/commute .. not hard track days but still.

Con's would be they don't make a 200 section tire but the 190 is measured at 195-ish I believe and they are slightly heavier just my 2 cents

i never used the metzeler but mike b has. from what he has said they arent too good for the track but make a spectacular street tire especially in the rain.

i use q3 great track day tire for a novice intermediate rider also very good in the rain. last very long and you can get 2 sets for the price of OEM

the dunlop 190 are wider than the pirelli 200 but they are not as tall. not a problem though just adjust traction control if you want. many on here use them.

If your open to the idea of running a 190/55 I would would consider this... Bridgestone
S20 Evo front, T30 rear.

Running this on my 675R on the street and there is more than enough traction for spirited riding while getting some good mileage.

here is the review of the metzler
http://ducati1299.com/reviews/23427-...rr-review.html

guys please drop the 190 200 debate. you do know that there is a 10mm play with each number

a 200 can be labled 200 even if its a 191 and a 191 can be labeled 200. its a guide not an absolute.

the q3 190 is .5mm wider than the pirelli 200. bridgestone 190 are wider than both the pirelli and the q3 i believe its 196 mm wide.

I run the Q3s; they are cheap, sticky and good for 2,000 miles of fast, twisty back roads. But if you are doing lots of HWY, the. The metzlers will last longer.
