I Ride: 1299S 15
1299S demo at 1299 base price

So I have the opportunity to get a DEMO 1299S with 643km on it
for the same price as a 1299 base.

Australian prices :

Base = $29,990
1299S = $37,990

My local dealer has a 2016 demo 1299S for sale at the Base price of $29,990
Bike has 643KM done

Is this a good buy :O should I just bite the bullet and do it, I have been waiting forever it seems to get one lol

I would say it's a good price..... what warranty are they giving you with it? a full 24 months? or just what is left?

is that price on the road as there will be taxes asit's a 2nd hand bike

Hey it has another 14 months of warranty plus roadside assitance so essentially yeah it was whatever was left from when it was first registered.

ALso has 2 months of registration left plus they will do the 1st service for me for free. Stamp duty is supposedly $900 but i Have talked him down to $400

So its $30,290 Ride away also its a 2015 model not 2016

Thanks !

is the bike perfect? no stone chips or marks on it?
Remeber every salesman will have had that bike out for a lap or two...

The demo I rode had been on the track the day before with 200km on it....

Not saying that is wrong all I am saying is go into the deal with your eyes wide open and not nievely

Ducati also have a deal atm where they have any brand new 1299 (Base or S)
gets a Free Akrapovic Titanium Race Silencer Kit worth about $3,500.

So either I get the demo 1299S for roughly the base price with no Akrapovic

Or

Get the Base 1299 With the Akrapovic included for free

Decisions Decisions lol

I would think the features of the S would outweigh the free Akrapovic ? (considering the bike is in perfect condition once I go down and take a look)

You call them features...... I do not want to cause an argument on here but when I bought mine the only reason I would have picked the S over base is for the LED lighting...

I personally do not feel i would have got the benifit from the other stuff...

Some other will tell you they need light wheels electronically adjustable suspension and bits of carbon and that's great...me......I don't

I Ride: All of them
I'd get the S if it is for the street but you plan to race it and modify the suspension anyway get the base.

It sounds like a good deal; however, Ducati prohibits dealers from selling demos until it has 1000mi and 6 mos on the showroom floor.

Mine was an ex demo with 675 miles on it. My mate was the salesman and I knew that the dealer did accompanied test rides so the bike didn't really get the chance to be thrashed anyway. If it looks mint then I'd be tempted.

tell them 30k out the door, if they want to make the deal, they'll eat that 290 and you'll have gotten a S for literally the base price, OTD.

plus, the adjustable ohlins is a quite an upgrade over the base suspension, but as someone else said, if you're going to race the bike, get the base bc you'll end up changing out the electronic ohlins anyways
