The 1299 Engine dies when pulling the clutch lever in

Is there something wrong with our bike - how do we fix this?

Engine dies sometimes when we pull the clutch lever in !!!!

The stealership can't find any electrical fault so they sent us home

Just got the bike back from 1st service with new software update but still having the same issue when pulling in the clutch lever the engine would shut down

Maybe there's an issue with the kickstand sensor? If I remember right, if the kickstand is down and you pull in the clutch it will kill the bike. Sounds intermittent so that's tougher to track down even for a dealer unless there is a fault code and in this case if it's the kickstand sensor there may be no way to track the problem easily.

I was riding the bike i am pretty sure the kick stand is not down because the bike was moving.

Thanks we will go back to the dealer to see if they could find the problem with the sensor.

I and some panigalefriends had the same problem on the 1199. Suddenly dies. One does it does it 5x, another day never.

Check the small and tiny metal plate that does the "click"-sound when you pull the clutch. If this little plate is not correctly in position (quickshift-sensor somewhat, so it knows when you pull the clutch and it is not necessairy to cut off the ignition), it cuts of the ignition completely and so the engine turn off.

After 10 seconds the setting of the plate has been corrected and I never had that problem again, now for more thatn 1.5 years...

No kidding, I can see your riding it in the video...that wasnt what I said. I was explaining how the sensor works and that it could be the issue of it wasn't working correctly.

Good point. This sounds like the most logic answer.

So i took her bike to the dealership but they couldn't replicate the fault however they have changed the idling .. wife's bike is now able to cruise around in 5th gear and great news is pulling on the clutch no longer kills the engine.

They are also replacing the screen on warranty: apparently there are 2 white lines coming up across the screen, there seem to be faulty white lines taking over the entire TFT screen

OK they said when we pull the clutch lever it goes into idle mode but the bike was idling too low so the engine got cut off.

They made our bike idle much higher now the problem has not resurfaced so far.

We are starting to think about getting rid of the Pani already starting to fear how much $$$ we will be losing when we are outside of warranty period.

Unfortunately the 2017 Honda CBR1000RR and the new 2017 Suzuki as well as the Kawasaki zx10r are down right obnoxiously ugly (typical ugly japanese bike) we may have to go to Yamaha R1 only because of their reliability history and besides the R1 isn't that ugly for a Jap bike !!!!
