that is an insulting offer.
couldn't agree more,

trade for a similar mileage used 1299S, that's reasonable, trading down to the lesser model is a slap in the face. nothing wrong with base model, but you paid for an S, should have an S.

I Ride: 2015 Ducati Panigale 1299S and 2016 Harley Davidson Breakout
My bike has been at Frasers and Britons a few times this time both bikes are at both dealership for almost 3 weeks now lol still they cant fix it.

I think on Monday i am going to yamaha to trade the S in on the R1M Yamaha - 2 of my friends own the new R1M and they had no problems with their bikes at all.

My wife wants to keep her bike so we will try to get it fixed for her she is a die hard Ducati Fan girl.

I dont have much cash so i am going to have to trade the S in on a new R1M otherwise i will have to come up with $10,000 cash plus the 1299 for a new R1M and that's not a good deal to me.

My only problem will be finding a good Yamaha dealership to buy from since Cully's Yamaha hate my guts (i wrote a bad review on their dealership).

In the end i will probably keep the S and trade the base 1299 on a new R1M so my wife could have a nicer bike since she is a Ducati Fan Girl (i will have to finance $5000 to make up the difference).

The problems we are having with our 1299 and the 1299s is the engines would shut off when using clutch manually or while idling at traffic lights or when we are about to take off after a set of traffic lights would go green.

There is nothing wrong with our riding skills we have been riding for well over 20 years and we have owned over 6 different bikes each so we are no newbies at riding bikes. Furthermore we also know a lot of other Panigale owners who also have the same problems !!!

Would you trade down from 1299S to a base 1299?

They need to swap you with what you paid for! IMO I feel like you're getting boned personally. If its a manufacturer defect then why are you having to sacrifice your hard earned money and downgrade to offset their problem. I mean I own a base and love it, its a excellent bike but if it had a continuous issue I would not accept a 959 to fix their problem.

This question is like asking, should I trade my 2015 335i for a 2016 328i? You are giving up thousands worth of features for a model year newer with no changes. The decision does not come down to whether an S is worth it over the base, it comes down to you already owning an S and downgrading.

For those that don't feel as if it is a downgrade, they are wrong. Whether you need them or not or if the additional features are worth the cost, an S to a base is a downgrade in trim.
