Another Termignoni Exhaust Question

Howdy, I installed a termignoni front exit slip on on my 1299 this winter, and before I order a manifold (thank you all for answering my last question on where to get said manifold) maybe someone has experienced the issue I have. Once installed, the rear carbon fiber heat guards on the exhaust are super close to the rear tire. I thought about grinding them down a bit, but the exhaust pipe itself is less then an 1/2 inch from the tire. Was hoping that the manifold would resolve my issue, but two grand for pipes on a bike that I would barely track seems a waste. Wondering if anyone knows of any solutions, before I order them. Thanks

If you upgrade to the 41t rear sprocket with +2 links in the chain it will extend your wheelbase and give you the clearance you need. In the meantime keep the carbon covers off

I do have a 41 superlite sprocket on the back, maybe its just me and it appears close. I never really looked at the OEM clearance. It almost looks like i need a 1/2 or 3/4 spacer between slip on and manifold to kick it forward.

This is my clearance with a 200/60 sbk slick.

Here is the best pic I could get, the carbon isn't actually touching the wheel although it looks like it.

Did you get a longer chain with your sprocket setup?

Mine was like that as well, and I ended up removing that side (left side is fine) because when riding the contact with the tire on lean/bounce began chipping/tearing away at the edges of the carbon slightly. Hope to spare you the same experience.
Haven't had time yet, but what I was planning to do this winter is unbolt and push the whole exhaust forward a bit more since it had a little more play (especially at rear manifold connection) when installing initially.
Good luck and let us know the outcome. Will do same when or if I get around to it.
