Dollar value....?.....from an R to an SL....i see a bargain here...

just a quick run down without full awareness:

35k for the R

add:

Carbon wheels - 8k ?
Carbon frame - 8k ?
Carbon fairings - 8k ?
Carbon subframe - 8k ?
Race exhaust - 8k ?

that ends at 75....add on a few dollars for what i may have underpriced or for what may get "overpriced" at factory prices and we are at 80
I'd have to say that those numbers a bit off. I paid under $3k for BST's and that's at consumer level. I can also get full carbon fiber fairings for around $1000.

Yep. Empower yourself folks. Don't buy into the "you can't do that" club. There are some great builders out there, many on this board.

..yes...of course....there is always a way to approach it differently....i'd never dispute that...have fun and good luck....while you're working things out i'd hope to be burning off tires.....and in the end....you ride "that"...and i'd ride "the factory item"

numbers being numbers.....for my rational, you get what you pay for....even if sometimes you wish you didn't

for the record: you realize we are talking about apples and oranges....your aftermarket versus factory items

I sure do understand the difference between aftermarket and factory parts. Aftermarket, I get the quality pieces from Ohlins, Brembo etc not the dog shit that is on even the entry level bikes. Even the "factory" race teams don't use the "factory crap". I fully understand that Ducati charges the same for an OEM cast master cylinders that OPP charges for the billet GP version. I really do get it. I understand that the dog shit radiator that doesn't even allow you to change the front plug without removing it or destroying it is way more expensive through Ducati than a MAC or H2O. Thanks for pointing that out. Also, Lets see your odometer. Bet you the next run of shirts I ride what I build a hell of a lot more than you ride what you bought.
Thanks from Rogue
