1299S Reverse Shift

Hi all,

Is it possible to easily switch my 1299S to reverse shift without replacing the OEM rear sets?

Thanks
Al

I don't think so. Its not like the s1000rr where you simply unscrew a few bolts and move the lever.

My dealer tried using the Ducati reserve kit with the OEM footpegs when I first got the bike in 2015 - it never worked!

I took the hit and bought the DP rear sets. They look cool and work really well with reverse shift.

I'm guessing your dealer might have messed up.
There's two ways you can go.
1: reverse wiring kit which includes a shift arm to mount 180 from the original arm.
2: reverse quickshifter that also uses the shift arm rotated 180 degrees.

I went option 3 which is rearsets that let me choose either shift option by changing link arrangement.

Yes you can do it. Originally the shift axle end was having too much offset, look: http://ducati1299.com/ducati-1299/21...tml#post200781

Later Ducati delivered less offset lever for me. Still works perfectly. But slippery pegs might still be a problem. I solved it with cheap solution: http://ducati1299.com/ducati-1299/21...tml#post222345

But the real problem with OEM kit is the long lever throw, which I fixed also.

Thanks for the replies. Some good options here.

I've got the Ducati Performance rear sets on my 1299S and 1199R race bikes however for consistency I thought i'd run reverse shift on my 1299S road bike.

Short and precise. Very good at the track, but also at the street where lady shifting might cause problems. A lot easier to operate, only neutral is a bit harder to engage. Which is a good thing since I try to avoid commuting.
