I also broke mine recently and I was thinking of getting them Motoscience mirrors too. The folding feature is what attracted me to them but how good are the rearward views out of them? Still see your arms?

My mates and I had the brilliant idea to chase some of the best Estonian roads which happen to be in the south of the country. since we live on the coast in the north, it meant a 750km circle of the country.

In summary, corners, hills, straights, wheelies, smiles/per hour and exhaustion. What a blast!

Really impressed with the 1299S. compared to my previous superbikes, the torque makes it much more enjoyable on the street than for example my RSV4. It's a total beast. But I guess you all know that

Had a few firsts yesterday too:
  • Hit gravel at 200km/h
  • Ground the left side footpeg in a corner
  • Tried for a top speed run but couldn't hit limiter ?!?!?!

Few pics

I fitted the SuperCorsa SP V3 which comes standard on the Ducati V4S and I really like it. It has the Supercorsa SC1 compound on the sides which the lower DTC settings are optimized for. With spirited riding it feels great leaving mad black lines out of every corner.

Fitted Brembo Z04 pads but still running the stock brake pump. It's good enough but still I'd like some better feel and power from the front. Guess I'm just used to my previous setup which was more aggressive with the RCS17 and M50 calipers.

The DTC system is as good as the Aprilia traction control system and the mad torque of this bike makes the DTC system noticeable coming out of any corner.

The stock footpeg position sucks. Combined with the larger 200/60/17 SuperCorsa SP V3 tire, you can't get to the edge of the tire without grinding footpegs. Can't wait to fit my CNC Racing rearsets.

The stock seat actually was surprisingly comfy for the whole ride. Don't feel like I dropped the soap in prison but I would prefer a grippier seat. Can't wait to install my race seat when it arrives and compare

I couldn't hit the limiter in 6th gear. Felt almost like the bike was underpowered. Still wen't north of 300 but can't wait to flash the Tuneboy software and compare. Have been waiting to do a few rides so I have something to compare to. The RSV4 hit the limiter at 330km/h on the odo. Stil annoys me that Panigale doesn't show the speed north of 300. Anyone know if there's a fix for this?

I feel the stock clipons could be at a slightly different angle. It's like my wrists get "kinked" just a few degrees which add up over a long ride like this. It might be different after race seat is installed.

TechSpecs knee pads are simply great for this kind of riding. Very safe and secure feeling and I've never had the application issues other people complain of.

Estonian roads are a bit unpredictable. You can be on an awesome road one moment and it turns to gravel after a small hill. I was leading the pack yesterday when we had such incident. Road turned to gravel after a hill without a sign. Usually we plan our rides with the national road administration maps that show asphalt vs gravel roads but we must've made a wrong turn. Suffice it to say, new underwear was needed, but the bike held up excellently and braking on gravel was quite controllable but would not recommend to try

Cleaned her up at the end of the day and today probably gonna fit the CNC Racing rearsets.

The taller race seat did improve the wrist/bar angle and is what Iíve been using. But now Iím switching over to a low Fullsix seat pan so itís going to be a learning curve again lol.

Finally.........

...fitted my Gold coloured Marchesini magnesium M10RS Corse wheels to my Panigale 1199S. I have had these a long time but never got around to putting them on the bike. At the same time I fitted some ceramic hybrid bearings to the front wheel and a lightweight alloy front axle from a German company that has now shut up shop. Some brand new Pirelli SC1 tyres front and back for my new wheels as well.

Now I just hope I can get some photos up.

Well tried to do this at work and could not get into dropbox to get my photos up as they were beyond the size limit. Will try to get some photos up when back at home.

What kind of difference do you expect from bearings and axle?
